Explore the beach with Friends of Saltwater State Park

The intertidal environment can present some challenges to the animals who call it home. Sometimes hiding is a good strategy for surviving low tides. 

Sometimes it’s finding refuge on another animal’s egg case.

Conserving energy, moisture and avoiding predators will allow these animals to survive these summer daytime low tides.
