About the event

Our fish class will run from 12-4PM

Meet to dive at 4PM

This may be a long day so bringing a lunch would be recommended.

As a reminder a Discover Pass is required for park entry.

This is a fun class to learn the native fishes in our area!

We will provide a power point and presentation on the fish that are most commnly found in the Pacific Northwest.

This comes out to be 11 families and 33 species of fish.

It is a wonderful class for beginners, and for those who just want learn more about what they're seeing under the water.  Those who want to contribute to the long term database for th life on our reef are welcome to do surveys.

We will need your reef number and you can sign up for free at

This opns the door to many more adventures as well as being a citizen scientist all over the world!

We highly recommend everybody get their stater kit:

Having your own kit sets them free to continue to survey and learn.

We will go over how to use the survey form and log a dive.

We will also have survey paper and slates available if needed.

After the presentation and some review if you are interested you can take the level 2 quiz which is only 20 fish, a point each for the species and family. Passing grade is 80%.  Complete 2 surveys and you will become a level 2 surveyor.
